Ganesh Babulal

Ganesh Babulal is a senior, completing a double major in Biology and English. He plans to enter the School of Occupational Therapy where he would work on attaining a Masters and then either a Ph.D or OTD. Ganesh hopes to make a significant contribution in the health sciences while educating individuals about best practices in life concerning health. In his free time, he loves to read classic literature, watch movies and weight lift.


Nikki Buckholtz
My name is Nikki Buckholz and I am a senior in the Family Social Science Department.  I will be graduating in May from the College of Education & Human Development and I am planning to attend graduate school for Counseling & Student Personnel Psychology/Student Affairs.  I hope to receive my master's degree and go on to counsel at the high school and/or higher education level.  I am currently interning with Chrysalis, a center for women and girls, as a Resource Counselor and a Sandcastles Facilitator Assistant.  I also have a research internship with the Minnesota Texas Adoption Research Project (MTARP) and am currently working with a group to code transcripts from adoption interviews.  My other activities include working in Student Activities, my honors society, Phi Upsilon Omicron, and  taking classes at  Zenon Dance Company.

Adam Engelman

Adam Engelman is a senior majoring in Political Science with a minor in Urban Studies who hails from Temple, Pennsylvania.  Since his arrival to Minnesota in the Fall of 04, he has been very active in student government serving as an executive board member and chair of the facilities, housing, and transit committee.  He currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Student Representatives to the Board of Regents.  In his free time, he enjoys tennis, exercising, and hanging out with the bros from Phi Gamma Delta.  Although he is not 100% certain what he will do upon graduation in the spring, he might head back to Washington D. C. to work on Capitol Hill.


Tarrek Hegab

Prior to attending the University of Minnesota, Tarrek lived in Alexandria, Egypt, where he attended middle and high school. He is currently a senior majoring in Genetics, Cell Biology and Development. He is also conducting research in the Department of Pediatrics. He is very active within CBS and is honored to have the opportunity of representing his fellow peers by serving as president to the CBS Student Board. When not busy with class and studying, he enjoys working out, reading, traveling and most importantly, being around his family and friends.

Liala Helal

Liala Helal is a senior in CLA honors with a major in journalism and minors in psychology and teaching ESL. She works as a part-time reporter at the St. Paul Pioneer Press and volunteers at Minnesota International Middle School as an English tutor. Liala grew up in the Twin Cities and currently resides in Fridley. Her interests include writing, photography, asking questions, and eating candy all day. She hopes to one day use her knowledge of the Arabic language and Islam to accurately cover stories in the Middle East.

Blaine Hust

I am a senior studying Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in Industrial Engineering and a minor in Management.  I have served as President, Vice-President, House Manager, and Candidate Class President of Sigma Nu Fraternity, and I currently sit on the High Council of Sigma Nu as a Collegiate Grand Councilman.  I have also served as an officer of the U of M Handball Club, and I participate in various professional organizations on campus.

Emily Lind

Emily is a fourth year English and Philosophy student. She hopes to enter a PhD program in English when she (finally) finishes her undergraduate work.

Emily enjoys reading fiction, essays, and travel writing. She finished twenty five books over the summer.


Michael Marino

Michael came to the land of 10,000 lakes from next to a lake...a big one. Originally from a northern suburb of Milwaukee, Michael is a senior at the U majoring in Journalism and Mass Communication with a focus in Public Relations. He also has two minors in both Art History as well as Studies in Cinema and Media Culture. Upon graduation (which is much closer than he thinks), Michael would like to work in Arts Management.

Seth Normington

Seth Normington grew up in Monona, WI, a small suburb of Madison.  He is a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity and an employee of The Minnesota Daily Newspaper.  Seth will be graduating in May with a degree in Advertising and New Media from the School of Journalism and Mass Communications.


Carolyn Quisenberry

I am from Mendota Heights, Minnesota and am majoring in Child Psychology with a Youth Studies minor.  I went abroad to Copenhagen through the Denmark International Study Program during Fall 2007, where I studied children with special needs and also had the opportunity to intern in a Danish after school program with teenagers who had learning disabilities.  I enjoy dancing, scrap booking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. I love the University of Minnesota and am sad to say I am graduating at the end of this semester!


Ben Roller

Ben is a senior studying microbiology in the College of Biological Sciences. Throughout his undergraduate career Ben has been involved with multiple undergraduate research projects in microbiology, studied abroad in New Zealand and was a peer mentor for first year biology students in the Nature of Life program at the University’s Itasca Biological Station. Next year Ben hopes to be attending graduate school in pursuit of a PhD in the biological sciences.


James Silda

I am Sociology - LCD Major. I am also Minoring in Leadership and Military Science. I will be graduating in May. I am in the U.S. Army Veteran I served in Iraq from Aug 04' to Feb 06'. I am also a very active leader within the Phi Gamma Delta - (FIJI) Fraternity. My future plans include becoming commissioned in May as 2LT in the Army. 

I am also looking at getting involved with police work or the FBI.


Andrea Wegner

Born and raised on a small dairy farm in Central Wisconsin, I was very excited to have the opportunity to attend the University of Minnesota, which promised to offer me so many new experiences. The U has definitely done so and has given me the chance to volunteer with victims of sexual violence, become involved in the Greek community, and study abroad in Morocco – just to name a few of those unforgettable experiences. I will graduate with a degree in Global Studies in May and plan to attend graduate school next fall in hopes of obtaining a higher degree in foreign policy issues in the Middle East.
